Security Gates
The main purpose of a security gate on your property is to control and limit access.
It allows you the control to choose who comes into your property and limits unwanted
visitors coming on to your land.
Many older systems worked by simply using a padlock and key but nowadays its preferable
to use electronically controlled gates. Most gates use a keypad system that unlocks
the gate on activation. There are also remote controlled gate opening devices. In
addition, an intercom system can be implemented as well as a video camera so you
can be confident on who you at letting in.
Electronically operated gates are fine provided there is power to operate the gates.
Consider a backup system to power the gates in the event of a failure. Maybe a generator
or manual opener would suffice.
Security gates can be either single or double and this will no doubt be a factor
in the cost. The gates are made from various types of material. Steel, iron and
aluminium are common materials that are typically used for manufacturing home security
gates and you may be able to specify the choice of material when you order your
gates. For example, you may replace aluminium gates with more durable and tougher
titanium gates.
